Amid all the controversy surrounding the Chris Evans/Matt LeBlanc feud over on the revived Top Gear in the UK, one story has seemingly been lost in the shuffle: History has canceled Top Gear USA after six seasons.
The news was confirmed by Rutledge Wood, who posted a message to Instagram that indicated the cancellation was a network decision, and not borne out of any of the three hosts' desire to leave. However, Wood states this might not be the end for Top Gear USA. "I'm not saying Top Gear USA is done, but it's done for the immediate future on History," states Wood.
Perhaps the show could find a new network, since it was never really the right fit for History. Then again, maybe there just isn't an audience for a version of Top Gear without Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May.
