Tom Hardy approached to play Elton John in new biopic

From Batman to Rocketman? Hey, why not?

Hitfix is reporting that Tom Hardy, star of The Dark Knight Rises, Inception and Warrior, has been approached to star in Rocketman, a biopic of singer Elton John.

Currently under development by director Michael Gracey, with Sir Elton himself serving as executive producer, the film is described as "a biographical musical fantasy that weaves together the life of Sir Elton John and his music."

No formal offer has been made just yet, but the creative forces behind the feature are reportedly discussing the role with the versatile actor.
