Tom Everett Scott Joins 'Beauty and the Beast'

The cast for The CW's Beauty and the Beast continues to expand as we head into 2014. Not long after news that Elisabeth Rohm would be joining the show in a recurring role comes word that Tom Everett Scott has been cast as a new recurring character, to be featured prominently in the new set of season 2 episodes scheduled to air in 2014.
Scott will play Sam, an archaeologist who crosses paths with Catherine and Vincent. Apparently, Sam has been living in isolation for several years -- a choice he might not have made voluntarily. Thus, Sam is described as a man with a short fuse "who can be charming on one hand and manic on the other."
So will we have another beast on our hands? Or perhaps a new love interest for Cat? A possible son of Reynolds (hey, there's a slight resemblance)? Whatever his role, expect Sam to stir up a lot of volatile drama, which will be bad for the characters, but good for viewers who love a good bit of primetime pulp.
Beauty and the Beast returns January 13, 2014 on The CW.
