TNT Developing Live-Action 'Teen Titans' Series

TNT is looking to do what The CW, FOX, and Cartoon Network are already doing, by getting into the DC Comics business. The cable network is working with Warner Bros. to develop a pilot titled Titans, a one-hour live-action drama based on the Teen Titans comic book series and cartoon, which center on younger versions of characters within the DC Comics Universe.

The series would reportedly focus on Dick Grayson, better known as the former "Boy Wonder" Robin, who comes into his own as the Batman-esque vigilante Nightwing. He leads a group of heroes that includes Starfire and Raven, among countless other familiar faces to DC Comics fans.

Of course, some diehards will probably be concerned to hear that Oscar winner Akiva Goldsman is on-board as an executive producer. Goldsman was the screenwriter for the critically-reviled films Batman Forever and Batman and Robin. However, his more questionable instincts will hopefully be reined in by co-executive producer Marc Haimes (The Last Word). I suppose we'll see when the series inevitably finds its way to air (no production start date for the pilot has been announced, but given the high-profile nature of the series, it's almost inconceivable that the show wouldn't be picked up to series).

What do you think of a live-action Teen Titans series? Good idea, or a concept better left untouched? Sound off in the comments!
