Tim McGraw Scores 35th #1 With 'Southern Girl'

Tim McGraw has just scored his 35th #1, with his current single 'Southern Girl'.

The song, a fun summer hit, is the third US release from his comeback album (and first under Big Machine Records) Two Lanes of Freedom. Many critics have said this is his best record in years, and it shows in the success he's had. The previous two singles from this record also hit #1, and his last single, 'Highway Don't Care' (featuring Taylor Swift and Keith Urban) is up for three CMA noms. Not bad for a career already spanning two decades.

“I think on every record there’s a song that the fans take and make their own, and we saw that happen with ‘Southern Girl’ on the road this summer,” said McGraw. “It’s been an incredible year and having so much success and three straight No. ones played a big part of that. I listen to country radio every morning without fail. Even after 35 of these, hearing your local DJ introduce and then play one of your songs will never get old.”

Congrats to Tim! I can't even comprehend that many #1s.
