Tim Lambesis, the lead singer for the Grammy-nominated band As I Lay Dying has pleaded guilty to trying to hire someone to kill his estranged wife.
That someone turned out to be an undercover agent so you can imagine how successful he was.
Lambesis was arrested in May for "suspicion of solicitation" when he offered an agent $1,000 to kill his wife Meggan Lambesis.
In addition to the money, the singer handed over his wife's address, codes to access her home and information about where she would be and when.
He also asked said agent to kill her when Tim would be with his kids to provide him with an alibi.
So why did he want her dead in the first place? According to the agent, Meggan filed for divorce in 2012 after 8 years of marriage and was set to earn half of Tim's income. Also, she would not allow their three young kids to go on tour with her husband and his Christian metal band.
Now that he's put in his guilty plea, Lambesis faces nine years in prison and a $10,000 fine. He will be officially sentenced on May 2.
