Tide vs. Ariel

I would like to announce that I am switching from Tide (Clean Breeze) to Ariel. I didn't think much about it or decide on anything until I smelled myself in my clothes yesterday... and I loved it. I smell so fresh and clean, like my clothes just came from the laundry, and my detergent was: Ariel. The only problem is Ariel's kinda hard to find, although the hispanic delis (called bodegas) do carry it. The text is also in Spanish, but I figured out that I did buy Ariel with "Bleach Alternative".

While researching on this entry, I realized that I am still supporting P&G, since they make both Ariel and Tide. In fact, I will still continue to use three more P&G products: Downy (Clean Breeze) liquid, Downy (Clean Breeze) sheets and Swiffer. (I am currently finishing a bottle of Dawn dish detergent, but I want to change it.)

Most of my body however belongs to Unilever's Dove. I use Dove shampoo and conditioner, bodywash and daily hydrating facial cloths. I am also an avid supporter of Gillette: My Mach3 Turbo razor (which I have not used in a while due to my beard fixation) and my Oral-B Crossaction toothbrush with Duracell Ultra batteries (which I also use for my wireless mouse and Sony Clie). My toothpaste is AquaFresh, and occasionally, I use another GlaxoSmithKline product, Oxy (it works!) I also use Kimberley-Clarks's Huggies.

For cleaning, I try to get anything with Clorox in it, but I was quite surprised that I use quite a number of SC Johnson's targeted stuff: Windex (glass cleaner), OFF Spray (for the blasted bedbugs), Glade (to get rid of the fried fish smells), Shout (for stains), Drano (for clogged sinks) and Ziploc (although recently I have been moving in favor of rival Glad).

My current skin lotions come from Johnson and Johnson: Johnson's Baby Oil Lotion, Neutrogena lotion and K-Y personal lubricant. But I haven't really decided on anything yet, and might just use Dove. J&J however makes my medicine of choice: Tylenol Extra Strength. (I am also planning to try their Splenda sugar substitute.)

The liquid in my body is maintained by Evian. (And computing products, of course, by Apple... and Epson... and Nikon...)

I guess I'm loyal to my brands, and so a detergent switch warrants a blog entry. I did however make two important switches last year that I forgot to mention. Before consolidating on Dove, I used P&G's Head and Shoulders shampoo with conditioner and Alberto-Culver's St. Ives Apricot Scrub for years.

For some reason, I am not partial to paper towels. I always buy the store brand. In that case I am loyal to the brand that costs 60 cents.
