'So You Think You Can Dance' to add 'Crews' and 'Battle Rounds' for Season 11

Guess who's copying from The Voice and America's Best Dance Crew? Nigel Lythgoe of So You Think You Can Dance!

Nigel confirmed that they are looking for dance crews of 4-6 people to participate in a battle/choreography round for So You Think You Can Dance Season 11.

He said that they will have a crew-battle round.

"Battle" rounds have been an integral part of The Voice since it started and The X Factor USA actually copied it this season during the Top 4. The Sing-Off also had a battle round this season with their Ultimate Sing-Off which was pretty amazing.

America's Best Dance Crew had some sort of battle too between the bottom 2 groups every episode, but they had different music.

I'm really looking forward to this. It looks like SYTYCD will turn into some sort of dance variety show in the summer if they have groups and individuals competing. Maybe even choreographers! It might even turn into Live To Dance my favorite dance show ever -- he should invite Paula Abdul to judge!
