The X Factor will have two hosts

Well at least this story is "confirmed" with an actual interview and is an actual exclusive from one of the big entertainment news outlets.

The CEO of FreemantleMedia confirms two hosts for The X Factor in the Fall. Nicole Scherzinger has been rumored to be one of them. I'm thinking that maybe Cheryl Cole might be the other. I think that making Cheryl a judge is too risky. No one really knows her in the U.S. This is definitely the reason why they've held off in announcing the judging panel for X Factor. The risk is: announce that Cheryl Cole is the judge -- and then everyone in America (who cares) goes: Who's that? That would be the first fail in an otherwise great marketing build up by Simon Cowell and the crew. Just make Cheryl Cole a host and get it over an done with.

Speaking in the latest issue of THR, Cecile Frot-Coutaz - CEO of FremantleMedia North America (which produces X Factor) - says she is ensuring the Cowell’s old show American Idol and his new one won’t cannibalize each other’s audiences. “Our job is to make sure the two shows are as distinct as possible,” she tells THR. “For example: We’re making sure there are two entirely different teams with no overlap in terms of individuals who are working on both shows. And from a format and tonal standpoint, they’re very different. In terms of casting the judges, again, we’re making sure the looks are different. And I can reveal that we’ll have two hosts on The X Factor.”
