'The X Factor' Encore Episodes to Air on Fridays

The X Factor will start airing encore episodes on Fox's Friday schedule.  The first encore episode is scheduled for September 28, 2012.

Will the move help ratings or increase viewer fatigue?

Fox has announced they will begin airing 1 hour encores of The X Factor on Friday, September 28, 2012 at 8 PM ET and continue for three weeks.  The encore episodes will replace planned episodes of the Gordan Ramsey Series Kitchen Nightmares.

Rival singing show The Voice, has also been airing encore episodes, so perhaps The X Factor is hoping the move will close the ratings gap between the two shows.
