The Weekend

I still have a couple of customers to visit today, but already I am very much looking forward to my weekend retreat at a Buddhist monastery somewhere upstate. I really don't know where it is, although the driving directions suggest a 2-hour drive. I will be going to my yoga instructor's apartment tomorrow morning and then we carpool to the place where we will relax, get a massage, eat vegetarian food and relax some more.

Did I mention I have a fish? I adopted Mr. Pink from the pet store a month ago. He's a fiesty red betta (fighting fish), and I've been feeding him twice a day before I sleep and before I leave for work. I clean the bowl once a week, which is brutal process really. I scoop him out into a smaller bowl then rinse the bowl and fill it with fresh Pur-filtered water. Then I plop him back in. The last time I did it, he was uncooperative and he fell on the kitchen counter! I panicked a little, but I managed to push him somehow into some water. He seemed fine afterwards. And so over the weekend, I will have to find a fish-sitter. I think I've grown to appreciate my fish. He actually gets excited when he "sees" me. Should I adopt a dog?

Incredibly, next week my schedule is already full, so the weekend will really matter to me. I have not been this busy since I worked as a scriptwriter for TV a few years ago (although that was busy and high-stress, right now its not that stressful, just tiring).

I promise to have some pictures on Tuesday.
