The Walking Dead - Season 2 Episode 12 - Better Angels
Another shocker on The Walking Dead! Why??? I'm actually a bit upset.
Spoilers:
A funeral is held for Dale cut with a scene where a group led by Shane hunt down some walkers in revenge. Rick says that they are going to work together this time.
Rick decides that he and Darryl move Randall to a nearby town and leave him there.
Carl felt guilty about Dale's death and tells Shane that he saw the walker that killed Dale, but failed to kill it with a gun.
Lori apologizes to Shane -- and thanks him for all that he has done for them -- even if things have sucked for Shane since Rick came back. She doesn't even know who the father of the baby she is carrying is.
Shane tells Rick about Carl, but Rick says that he is more concerned about getting rid of Randall. Rick however tells Carl to keep the gun with him.
Shane goes into the barn where Randall is being held. He notices that Randall has been trying to get out of his handcuffs.
Cut to T-Dawg opening the locked barn door -- and discovers that Randall is no longer there! Shane leads Randall in the woods. He tells him he is done with Rick's group, but it's just a fake out as he breaks Randall's neck. He then slams his head into a tree to make it look like he was attacked by Randall.
Shane hides his gun, and comes back to the farm where people are looking for Randall. He tells them Randall escaped and attacked him. Rick, Glenn, Darryl and Shane go to woods to search.
Darryl and Glenn go together and are attacked by Randall who is now a walker. (How? OMG) Glenn kills him with a machete to the head.
Rick and Shane head into a field, and Rick knows that Shane is lying about Randall to bring him there so Shane could kill him. Rick says that no one would believe Shane's story without him -- but Shane says they'll believe him after he tells them that he broke Randall's neck after he killed Rick. They now have a standoff! Under a full moon!
Shane lowers his gun so Rick can shoot him, but Rick refuses. Shane says that he is a better father than Rick and things got destroyed when he returned. He raises his gun again. Rick shows his gun to Shane and moves closer as if handing Shane the gun. Once the gun is in Shane's hand, he pulls a knife and stabs him in the heart!
Shane dies and Rick is beside himself and bawls.
Quick cut of images of walkers.
Carl arrives and sees that Shane is dead. Rick approaches him. Carl raises his gun. Rick thinks it's aimed at him, but Shane rises behind him as a walker! Carl shoots and kills Shane (again). Double dead.
Rick and Carl look down at Shane's body while a group of walkers "awaken" toward their direction.
Wow. What a shocking ending. But why? Shane was such a great character even though he was so screwed up!
The last five minutes of this episode was so intense!
