The Voice - Season 2 Episode 2 - Blind Auditions

It's Day 2 of The Voice Blind Auditions and the coaches: Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green open the show with a Prince medley. Carson Daly declares: "That is how it's done." I agree!

The singers for tonight:

The Line (a duo) sing 'American Girl'. Leland was in the show "In Search of the Partridge Family" where he starred opposite Emma Stone. Even if they had country music leanings, they make a surprise choice in joining Team Xtina.

Jamar Rogers sings 'Seven Nation Army'. Jamar is famous for being the best friend of Danny Gokey on American Idol Season 8, but now makes his mark as a recovered meth addict and HIV+ volunteer for New York's God's Love We Deliver. Why American Idol did not show this more human and relatable aspect of Jamar when he was on that show is puzzling. He is a huge Cee Lo Green fan and he joins Team Cee Lo.

Neal Middleton sings 'I Heard It Through The Grapevine'. No team.

TJ Gibson sings 'Calling All You Angels'. No team.

Aly Jacobs. No team.

Sam James sings 'I Don't Wanna Be'. No team.

Gwen Sebastian sings 'Stay'. She's from North Dakota, you betcha! Joins Team Blake.

Pamela Rose sings 'Already Gone'. No team. Cee Lo Green regrets not pressing his button because she has the looks.

Kim Yarbrough sings 'Tell Me Something Good'. BDND™! Joins Team Adam.

Angie Johnson sings 'Heartbreaker'. Angie has gone viral on YouTube for her rendition of Adele's 'Rolling in the Deep' while she was in the military. Carson Daly got her to audition. Joins Team Cee Lo.

Dez Duron sings 'I Want It That Way'. OMG He's so cute! No team! Christina Aguilera regrets not pressing her button (and so are a lot of viewers watching for that matter). I hope there is a wild card. He needs to be on my TV every week. Drool.

Lindsey Pavao sings 'Say Aah'. She was the featured preview audition for Season 2. She dramatically joins Team Xtina.

Hoja Lopez sings 'Teenage Dream'. No team.

Jermaine Paul sings 'Complicated'. He was a backup singer of Alicia Keys and a Grammy nominee. During his deliberations with the coaches, his cocky attitude somehow makes him the instant villain of the season. Well played NBC! Even if he's R&B, he surprisingly joins Team Blake.

Angel Taylor sings 'Someone Like You'. Joins Team Adam.

The Voice is so much better now in execution of the Blind Auditions compared to Season 1 (which was already great). Carson Daly somehow manages to get out of the way and not annoy like he did last year and the banter between the coaches are engaging. I was left at the edge of my seat when the singers selected their team when multiple coaches pressed their buttons. Each coach gets 12 team members each, so we are in for a few more auditions. Hopefully things won't bog down with repetition. But overall, a great presentation from NBC over the last 2 days. For as long as the show is entertaining, I'm in.

Bring back Dez Duron for the Wild Card!
