The Voice 12 Minute Sneak Peek

BBC has won the rights to The Voice in the UK. I hope they get Cheryl Cole to be a coach!

From Variety:

The cash-strapped BBC has outbid ITV for U.K. rights to John de Mol's latest hit "The Voice."

BBC1 controller Danny Cohen clinched a deal with de Mol on Thursday for the talent-reality hybrid that bowed successfully on NBC in April.

The U.K. version of "The Voice," regarded as a less in-your-face alternative to fare like "The X Factor" and "Got Talent," will make its debut on BBC1 next year.

Both "The X Factor" and "Got Talent" are signature shows for ITV1.

Cohen said: "It's a big, exciting and warm-hearted series, and will be a fantastic Saturday night event on BBC1."
