The Voice 2 - Semifinals - Live Blog Recap

Tonight, The Voice's Final 8 take the stage! This is it! A combination of America's votes and coaches' scores will determine who continues on to the finale next week -- one contestant from each team will move on! In addition to performing an individual song, there will be group performances. How exciting! Blake Shelton performs!

Of Team Xtina, Team Blake, Team Cee Lo, and Team Adam, who do  you think has the best shot at the title?

Here is your Final 8:

I will be live blogging all the action right here tonight. So, come back soon and often for my thoughts on the talent.

The Top 8 will perform. At the end of the show, the coaches will give them scores! OMG!

Tony Lucca - Team Adam - "How You Like Me Now" by The Heavy

Aww. He's Mister Mom. Interesting song choice. A jab at Xtina, perhaps? Heh. He's got some grinding dances standing next to him. Awkward goose. He's been a bad, bad man. Midway through, he breaks out some weird dance moves. This is a groovy song for him, but I've never thought he should have made it to begin with. He does ooze charisma and he's totally working the crowd.

Blake thought it was badass. Xtina thought it was a great song choice and a fun performance. She also said him and Adam could start a Britney Spears cover band. Ha. Check out his full performance HERE.

Erin Willett - Team Blake - "Without You" by David Guetta feat. Usher

Hmm. During rehearsal, she powers through the whole thing without any depth to her vocal delivery. When she begins, it's obviously too low for her, and there are a few pitchy issues. As the song progressions, there just isn't anything unique about her tone, phrasing, or delivery. However, she does have a powerful voice, but this is too shout-y for my tastes.

Xtina thought it was a bold choice and original. Cee Lo said she gave the song a new freshness. Blake would give anything to have the tenth of the talent she has. Oh...really?! Huh. Check out her full performance HERE.

Chris Mann - Team Xtina - "Ave Maria"

I'm actually excited about this. Do what you do best, dude! Oh, he's dressed all in white, and there are candles everywhere. He's tender with the notes where he needs to be. He has a terrific grasp on his instrument. I prefer when he doesn't go all pop-opera on us. This is his sweet spot. I loved that. Heartfelt and controlled.

Cee Lo said his voice is powerful and perfect. He's the epitome of this show. Adam says he helps the validity of the show. Heh. Xtina goes up on stage and hugs him. Check out his full performance HERE.

Jamar Rogers  -Team Cee Lo - "If You Don't Know Me By Now" by Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes

Oh man. This song? Hopefully he does something awesome with it. Ohhh. He's add an R&B beat to the backing track. There are green lasers! His vocals sound great tonight. I think he'll be moving on next week. Wow. That was terrific. He's pouring his heart and soul into this. VOTE VOTE VOTE.

Adam is a fan of what he does. Blake said it sounded great. Xtina got motivated to start singing. Check out his full performance HERE.

Musical Performance - Team Adam & Team Cee Lo - "All These Things That I've Done"

Great song. They're singing live! There's not enough cheese in this, and there seems to be a lack of energy. Tony breaks out the guitar! FYI, Juliet and Katrina sound fantastic. Let's hope their individual performances rock my socks.

Jermaine Paul - Team Blake - "Open Arms" by Journey

This song reminds him of his wife and children. There is just a piano. Midway through, it picks up and his voice soars. Eh song choice, but great delivery. I think it's a no brainer that he'll be moving into the finale next week. Towards the end, his vocal acrobatics are in full effect. Some of his higher notes are a bit flat and shout-y. Overall, very good.

Xtina calls him a "crazy, talented vocalist." Cee Lo is consistently impressed with him. Adam congratulates him on no longer being a background singer. Aww. Check out his full performance HERE.

Katrina Parker - Team Adam - "Killing Me Softly with His Song" by Roberta Flack

Oh. Love this song. She's standing center stage, and so far tonight, she's the only one that starts out great. Perfect song for her. Midway through, it picks up with a nice little groove. Xtina is singing along! It seems to drag a bit in the middle, but she brings it home with her final note.

Xtina wishes she could be her coach and tells Adam to take a good look at her when doing his percentages later on. Check out her full performance HERE.

Musical Performance - Blake Shelton - "Over"

Great song. The band sounds super loud tonight. Blake is shouting at me right now. Stop it.

Lindsay Pavao - Team Xtina - "Skinny Love" by Bon Iver

I love her interesting song choices. She's playing an instrument for the first time in the competition. There are people sitting at her feet clapping. Um, OK. Quirky voice and all, she sounds great tonight. She's this year's Dia Frampton. Go, girl!

Cee Lo doesn't know about skinny love. He's into big love. Eww. Adam loves that everyone is so different and unique on this show. Xtina gives her a hug. So much love! Check out her full performance HERE.

Musical Performance - Team Blake & Team Xtina - "Edge of Glory" by Lady Gaga

This is like the singing competition song fo the year (along with Adele). What an eclectic group of singers. Powerhouse Erin against quirky Lindsay; Operatic Chris agains R&B Jermaine. If I didn't absolutely love this song, I would hate this performance. Bad song for them. It's not even cheesy.

Juliet Simms - Team Cee Lo - "It's a Man's, Man's, Man's World" by James Brown

She wants to make it a woman's world! Perfect song choice and completely poignant for this competition right now. She's really laying down some hot vocals tonight. She's such a true rocker chick. Go, girl! WOW.

Adam said it was something special and that she's the one to beat. Xtina points out that she sings for her. Check out her full performance HERE.

The Coaches' Votes - They each get 100 points to divy between their contestants.

Top 4: Juliet, Jermaine, Chris, Tony

But, I predict that the finale will be all guys. They seem to have a built up fan base at this point. The only girl who could break it up is Juliet.

So, what did you guys think of tonight? Who was your favorite? Who will make the finale next week?
