The Voice 2 Finals - iTunes Studio Recordings - Review
Here are my reviews of The Voice Season 2 Finals iTunes Studio Recordings.
Each singer got a solo and then a duet with their coach.
Team Adam and Team Christina are tops, but it was overall a great batch of songs. I gave three perfect scores! Six of the eight tracks are in the Top 13 of the iTunes charts right now. Impressive!
The reviews:
Jermaine Paul - I Believe I can Fly
Unfortunately, this really doesn't do anything for me. His voice lacks fullness. But it sounded like he was giving it his all. This is probably the best that he has to offer.

Tony Lucca - 99 Problems
He didn't edit "bitch," omigosh, what about the children? LOL. Such a controversial season with Tony, Adam and Christina culminating in this track which reached #3 on iTunes. This was very good. Perfect song choice at the right time in the competition.

Cee Lo Green and Juliet Simms
This sounded like it was straight from the Broadway soundtrack of Rocky Horror Picture Show! If that was the intent then this is perfect. I enjoyed this but I don't know if it helps Juliet's hard rock streetcred.

Adam Levine and Tony Lucca
Perfect. This sounded beautiful. Adam and Tony's voices just blend really well on this song -- so pleasantly surprised.

Chris Mann - You Raise Me Up
I've heard better versions of this song. Josh Groban was so much better. In the context of a reality pop singing show, this is well done. The fans love it and it's refreshing to know that a singer like Chris could make it to an actual final.

Blake Shelton and Jermaine Paul
So the "adlibs" on their live performance were also included in the studio? LOL! So much for spontaneity. Blake totally made this track work with his great vocals. Jermaine not so much, sorry. It's just so shrill!

Juliet Simms - Free Bird
I think Juliet was gunning for a "killer" performance with this one. However, it seemed like an odd choice for a finale -- to win a pop music competition. This was too retro. Maybe in the semis or earlier, but not the finale. Still a great job though.

Amazing. I love this. Go Christina and Chris! Excellent song choice and a great recording. So refreshing to hear Christina sing this song. Wow!
