The Vampire Diaries - Season 4 Episode 12 - Recap - A View to a Kill

Here’s the recap for Season 4  Episode 12  of The Vampire Diaries: “A View to a Kill" on The CW!

Another episode, another step towards the cure.

In a not so surprising turn of events, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) catches Stefan (Paul Wesley) in bed with Rebekah (Claire Holt). It was only a matter of time before these two got together, feelings or no feelings, they’re far too good-looking not to hook up. Despite their new-found love affair Stefan is not about to let that get in the way of getting the dagger from her.

Oh.. Stefan and Rebekah hooked up? Shocker

On a not so exciting mission of just sitting in lockdown- Daman (Ian Somerhalder) is working his way back to full strength after almost being bled out. Damn him for being compelled by Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) to kill Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen), and he was barely in the episode, boo.

Lucky for him he won’t be missing the 80s dance since Bonnie’s mayor father decided to cancel it. He is concerned about the well-being of his daughter and her all-powerful witch ways. He is afraid of what she’ll do and who she will do it too.

One person not concerned with hurting or killing someone- Jeremy. He, under the guidance of his vampire sister Elena (Nina Dobrev), has been instructed to kill Kol (of the original sire line) and everyone in his line will help complete Jeremy’s hunters mark. With the mark complete- the cure is close.

Kol has other plans as he tries to kill not only Bonnie in the episode, but also Elena and Jeremy after they invite him into the house. After a thrilling chase around the house, Kol manages to pin Elena to the wall using a post from a crib. (Ouch)

Even though the dance was canceled, the 80s live on for Stefan and Rebekah as they take it to the dance floor. She reveals to him she has the dagger in her boot and Stefan immediately texts Matt (Zach Roerig) to come for backup. Since Stefan is a vampire he is unable to dagger her. But Matt, a human will come in handy. (Who says he’s not useful) But once Rebekah admits to Stefan that she wants to have feelings, fall in love and to become human, he changes his mind about daggering her.

Back at Bonnie’s bouse her dad is totally against letting her leave the house as they need to have a family meeting. He tells Bonnie that he doesn’t want to lose her to witch craft like her mother (who randomly shows up 5 seconds later for this “meeting”) She is concerened about Professor Shane and what he’s been teaching her. They won’t let Bonnie out of the house even though Jeremy comes to the house to plea that some other witches that can help clear Bonnie’s mind of the “dark magic”/ “expressions”.

Back in hot Daman’s dungeon of despair, he and Klaus have a heart to heart about his feelings for Elena. It’s no lie that he is in love with Elena, but it becomes clear of his fear of the cure and what is going to happen to them after. Will she go back to Stefan?

Elena disgustingly removes herself away from the wall and runs downstairs just in time to save Jeremy and his arms. After some rough and tumble in the kitchen, Jeremy sprays Kol with water. In a moment of distraction- Elena hands the dagger to Jeremy and into Kol it went. He immediately bursts into flames (Bye Kol)

Klaus appears just in time to see his brother go down in the inferno and vows to kill both Gilbert’s. Shortly after Bonnie shows up to create a fortress around Klaus allowing them all to get free. Klaus isn’t the only sibling upset to hear about their brother’s demise. Rebekah has a “change of heart” and decided to join the others in their quest to find the cure even giving up Silas’ headstone to Stefan.

It didn’t take long after Daman was out of lockdown for him to reveal to Elena that Stefan had slept with Rebekah. Was this his way of keeping Elena to himself? Either way- the shocking reveal was cut short when Jeremy started ripping his clothes off revealing the hunter’s mark beginning to spread across his body….. It’s all happening!!
