The Secret Life - She Went That A'way - Recap

Not much happened this week. After what seems like forever, we finally learned Adrian's ultimate decision. I swear this show knows how to stretch a storyline so that it lasts for an entire season. Anyway, here it is. After a chat with Ricky's mom (I still call her Rose) Adrian changes her mind. For some reason she decides not to get an abortion or even consider adoption. She's keeping the baby with Ben. To say I was disappointed with this decision would be an understatement. While i'm happy that the show tried to at least represent abortion in a fair light, i'm sad Adrian didn't go through with it. There are just too many babies on this show. I'm starting to think that the writers of this show have an agenda to have as many teen pregnancies as possible; to scare the youth of America from ever having sex again.

Everyone's world is rocked when Adrian announced her decision. She's surprisingly calm about it considering everything else we know about her beliefs and character but I guess i'll have to live with it. Adrian tells Ashley who for some reason sees fit to sit her parents down for a serious discussion about someone else's business. Seriously? They all start to avoid Amy's calls because no one wants to be the messenger who gets killed when Amy finds out her boyfriend is having a baby with her nemesis. Everyone basically sits around, unable to keep a secret yet still hoping Ben tells Amy the truth before someone else can.

Grace is still horrible. But this time, a couple people are seeing through her. Adrian isn't blind to the fact that Grace wanted her to keep the baby. Not just because she's religiously critical, but because she knows when Ben tells Amy that Adrian is pregnant, Amy is going to be pissed. And when she finds out, Grace is hoping she will break up with Ben and Ben will be all hers. Did I say Grace was horrible? I really meant Madison, who solidifies her medal for most hated character in my eyes. She has a cat fight type argument with Grace over Jack living in the guest house and flaunts her sex life in Grace's face. Are there any couples that haven't happened on this show? I feel like it's all one big incestuous orgy. With lots of babies. I still love Amy's dad though. "Maybe hungry husbands are eating the trees." Hilarious.
