The Secret Life - Get Out Of Town - Recap

I rag on and on about how the kids on this show can't keep their mouths shut or mind their own business..but lately the grown ups have been giving them a run for their money. Everyone has made it their mission to hide the rumors of Adrian's pregnancy from Amy and instead encourage her to go to New York for her music program. Ashley feigns caring about her sister, Ben is relieved, Ricky sees it as an opportunity to be with John, and basically all of her encouragement is false. Her mom seems pretty genuine though. In the end, Amy decides to leave the next day for New York and will be gone for 4 weeks. Who will I complain about if she's not on the show?

Oh that's right. Grace is still around. I can't seem to grasp the idea that people could be so meddlesome and not understand that Adrian's business is Adrian's business but then Grace shows up to enlighten me. She talks to her hot step dad Jeff about her summer plans. She's thinking of skipping Medcamp this summer and instead try and win Ben back..which just got easier now that Amy is out of the picture. She asks Jeff for names of hopeful adoptive parents so she can guilt Adrian into keeping the baby. Jeff finally opens his mouth as the voice of reason and tells Grace she needs to mind her own business and worry about her own life. Marry me Jeff. Grace isn't perturbed by Jeff's lack of help and the biggest thing to come out of this scene is Tom overhearing that Adrian is pregnant. He shows up to breakfast the next morning in a suit and announces he's looking for a job. Then he wants an apartment because he's planning on getting married. To..Tammy..right? RIGHT? Run, Adrian.

Now it's time for some adults to meddle in business that isn't their own. Now, I understand that these are their kids and they have a right to know, but this is ultimately Adrian's decision and it's a big one. She should have been allowed to tell her parents on her own terms. But Ben's dad saw fit to do it himself. He has dinner with Adrian's dad and lets him know what's going on. Ben is pissed and Adrian's dad is shocked. He's on Team Grace and does not want Adrian to even consider getting an abortion. Adrian's mom finally comes home from her business trip and has a surprise waiting for her. Welcome home honey! Our daughter is pregnant.

Do you guys think Adrian will go through with her original plans? I kind of hope she does. This subject has been taboo for so long and it's time it was represented fairly.
