The Secret Life - Do Over - Recap
They waste no time in telling us the results of the pregnancy test and really, it was only a matter of time before everyone found out. No one on this show can ever keep a secret. They're all such nosy people that i'm surprised no one has flipped the hell out screaming for everyone to mind their own business. Adrian's pregnancy test was positive, hence the scared as shit look on Ben's face last season. However, Adrian tells Ben that she got her period so woot! False alarm. The test was wrong. So she says...
Ben isn't positive that Adrian is telling him the truth so until she stops avoiding him, he chooses to avoid Amy and Grace who is as oblivious as ever. Poor Grace thinks she still has a chance with Ben. As if that guy doesn't have enough baggage. Not only does a hug from him probably feel like groping a frozen turkey, but he's in love with Amy and probably knocked up Adrian. The sausage prince is not worth it. She starts to get the hint that Ben isn't interested when she mopes around the house and Tom shows up to make things awkward and tell Grace she has no friends. He's just full of tact.
Jack and Madison continue to prove what horrible human beings they are by contemplating oral sex in a car while Madison frets over knowing Adrian's secret. Why is it so hard for that girl to keep her mouth shut? No pun intended. Anyway, while making out, Jack tells Madison that he loves her. A normal reaction to this declaration would be along the lines of "Awww! I love you too!" But Madison instead demands a gift as proof. He didn't propose Madison, be grateful he said it at all. Jack is confused by Madison's selfishness and things continue to get crazy for him when his parents announce they're moving to Phoenix. They want Jack to stay behind and live with a friend. Nice? You just know that this translates into sex 24/7 for Jack who immediately asks Madison if he can move in.
Ashley's character is still doing a 180 from previous seasons with her anti sex stance. She asks her dad to lie for her and take her to get birth control. She tells her mom she's joining the track team because she wouldn't let her get the pills. I'm surprised at how accepting her dad is being. Naturally, they're caught in the lie and the mom finds out about her going on the pill. But at least she's being smart about things. Amy on the other hand, always reminded of her past mistake, is outed as being on the pill as well.
Ben finally confronts Adrian about whether or not she's pregnant. He asks her if she had an abortion and she tells him she hasn't been lying. She tells him that if she ever did get an abortion it would be her choice. Ben disagrees. While Ben should be told of said abortion, it's ultimately Adrian's decision. Just my opinion. Ben is thrilled that Adrian isn't pregnant so he goes and gets back together with Amy. Adrian adopts a sad face and calls the equivalent of a planned parenthood and asks to talk to a counselor. Is she thinking of getting an abortion? Was she lying? Is she not sure? I think as of now, she's really pregnant and either lied about it or got confused. What do you think?
