Emma believes she's on to something when she learns that she is having a nightmare that Sutton had as a child. Emma believes the two of them are showing signs of a psychic twin connection. Things get weirder for her when she realizes the dream is a memory. A memory of her trapped in a fire as a baby. Alex wants to keep Sutton from knowing that her birth mother is alive. He and Sutton's dad are hiding something. Were they responsible for the fire?

Things are getting messy back at home with Sutton's friends and Ethan. Sutton wants her life back and wants to speed up the search. Ethan is suspended from school and fired from his job for stealing Sutton's laptop. Laurel takes the blame and pretends it was her who planted the laptop in his truck to help out her sister. Sutton and Thayer explore a town that her birth mother may have lived to try and find out more about who she was.

When Emma tells them about there being a fire, they find a house that was burned down. This was the house Emma lived in. Inside, they find things she remembers and a name printed on the ceiling. Annie Hobbes may be the birth mother's name. When Sutton's dad arrives home, he's shocked to have a message from an Annie waiting for him.
