The Lying Game - Double Dibs - Recap

Emma continues to make Sutton's life complicated while she's off investigating in L.A. I don't really know why she's complaining. Emma is making her life better in my opinion. Sutton begins to grow jealous of Emma and Ethan spending time together. She's the twin that loves him. She demands that her relationship with Ethan be kept a secret but Emma winds up getting him invited to a family dinner. Emma herself is struggling with her own feelings for Ethan. Awkward. Her feelings get tested when Sutton's stolen laptop is planted in Ethan's truck. Ethan vehemently denies that he was the one who broke in and thinks that Sutton's investigation and the stolen laptop are all connected. Someone knows what they're looking for.

Laurel is pleasantly surprised when the hot new guy in town is interested in her after a brief meeting in the park. Unfortunately for her, Char calls dibs on him when he arrives at school. Not wanting to put a target on her back to Sutton's friends, she gives up on ever getting together with this guy. Char puts her claws into him as soon as she can but he's so not interested. Maybe he was just blinded by her teeth. Damn, girl were they that white on Kyle XY? Laurel is surprised how nice her "sister" is being when she arranges for Justin to find Laurel and ask her out on a date.

Things aren't going any easier for Sutton in California. After being blown off by her birth mother, Thayer helps her track down where she works. Together, they try one more time to talk to her. The woman they find is not their real birth mother. This woman was paid to put her name on the birth certificate because the real birth mother was shady and wanted her identity kept secret. She is however surprised to hear that Emma ended up in foster care and insists she was adopted by a rich family in Beverly Hills. This adoption was pretty shady as well. The real birth mother showed up at this house with a fake license and took Emma back. Sutton is given a picture of the woman from the man who almost adopted Emma. The picture doesn't mean much to me in terms of looking familiar. In fact, her face looks pretty wonky.
