The Lying Game - Being Sutton - Recap

Emma is adjusting to life as Sutton now that her new twin sister has disappeared. On top of everything else she has to worry about in order to impersonate her new sister, Emma has to worry about whoever broke in and stole Sutton's computer. That laptop was her lifeline and key to being Sutton. She's still stumbling and struggling with her new life and has a new challenge hurled at her. Sutton is apparently a great ballroom dancer. Emma is not. And she needs to be in time for their annual Father-Daughter dance

Ethan offers to give her dancing lessons and the two of them grow closer. Awkward. Wrong twin alert. Emma struggles with her new best friends and finds herself acting out not as Sutton would. Apparently Sutton was famous for keeping secrets and telling lies. Her and her friends had a "thing" called The Lying Games. Something about playing practical jokes and putting it online. They think this could be why the computer was stolen. Was she really that bad? What is Sutton hiding?

Apparently the parents in this show are keeping their own secrets. We don't get anything more than that. At the dance, her drunken Godfather (who is also Mads' dad) creates a scene and starts screaming at Sutton for being the reason is son Thayer is in L.A. Then he punches Ethan. Emma freaks out and confesses to Ethan's cop brother about who she really is but he doesn't buy it. It's apparently not the first time Sutton has cried wolf to the police.

Emma gets a text from Sutton telling her to get online right away and Ethan and Emma meet her at the computer. She needs a few more days because her purse was stolen and her birth mother never showed. She is very angry that her laptop was stolen because it has everything about everything on it. When Sutton hangs up, it's shown that she's in a cafe with Thayer. What are they doing together? The person who has the laptop is her Godfather. What would he want with it?

Are you liking The Lying Game so far? I'm a tad worried it's going to start getting good and ABC Family will cancel it.
