The Lonely Pamphleteer
"... liberty of the press is the right of the lonely pamphleteer who uses carbon paper or a mimeograph just as much as of the large metropolitan publisher who utilizes the latest photocomposition methods." - Supreme Court Justice Byron White in BRANZBURG v. HAYES, 408 U.S. 665 (1972)
I have had a good working relationship with David for some time now. I am his computer guru, and he as been dilignetly working with me for the past several months trying to get his e-mail, scanning and Word running. Recently, he finally set up a web site for his writing and photographing efforts regarding stuff about New York City. He is particularly miffed at the Orange Alerts he finds on his windshield. Thanks to his very useful press ID, he has taken some good snapshots of sports figures in New York. One day, he surprised me when he got an iBook. We had been training on a Windows machine for the longest time so it was a strange decision. Apparently, I am a Mac evangelist by osmosis, though I am really happy he chose the Mac. (By comparison, my new housemate bought a refurbished Dell 5100 which is heavy, bulky, runs God-awful Windows XP Home and has an unreliable wireless card. He wouldn't listen to me. I told him he was about to get a bad machine, but he still insisted that XP is the 'best'.)
At any rate, I'm finally writing about David because, without him I wouldn't be useful to at least one person in this world. He's also that only person I know who uses the expression: "Holy Moley!"
Other Notes: I just realized by voice is whiney. And I'm watching a ballet tonight. My voice is whiney! I think I talk through my nose.
