The Legend of Korra - Episode 10 - Video Recap - Turning the Tides

Here's the recap of The Legend of Korra Episode 10: "Turning the Tides".

As the episode before the one-hour season finale next week, "Turning the Tides" definitely ups the stakes significantly this season. The love triangle between Mako, Korra and Asami starts getting really intense. We get epic fights on Air Temple Island. And one of the characters shows what it means to be a true hero. Oh and the big reveal in the end just made me want for more.

I love this show!

The Legend of Korra - Episode 10 - Recap

Asami and Mako's relationship is on the rocks. Mako is showing more and more affection towards Korra openly, and Asami is upset. She confronts him about it after breakfast on Air Temple Island. He says that he is only reacting that way because Korra was kidnapped, but Asami tells him that she knows about Mako and Korra's kiss previously. He says that it's "complicated," which of course just doesn't do for Asami. My fear is that this will cause Asami to side with her father next week. Hopefully it doesn't happen. Asami chose not to be with her father because it was the right thing to do -- not because she was in love with Mako.

Tenzin leaves Air Temple Island for a council meeting. He asks Lin Beifong to stay behind to protect his family. Tenzin arrives in city hall and is ambushed. Thankfully, he is able to stop it, but the other council members aren't so lucky and have been captured by Amon. Tenzin now became the only leader of Republic City -- as Amon and Heroshi Sato start their attack on the city in airships.

Korra and Team Avatar see that the city is under attack -- so they leave Air Temple Island to help. Asami is really upset at Mako now and tell him to sit in the backseat with Korra.

Meanwhile, Tenzin sends a message to the General of the United Forces that Republic City is under attack. City Hall is gassed -- and Tenzin leads the security force outside, only to be met by Amon's mechatechs. They are defeated and Tenzin captured. However, Team Avatar arrives and saves him. (Somewhere above the city, Hiroshi Sato says that he is sad that his daughter is fighting with the benders. But Amon says that he will have his daughter back before long. Oh no! Please let this be a false foreshadowing...)

The guy with electric sticks leads an attack on Air Temple Island. Lin Beifong tells Pema and the children to stay inside. Pema screams -- she is about to give birth! Lin fights the Equalists by herself as Pema goes into labor. Lin gets overwhelmed, but is saved by Tenzin's kids! They defeat the Equalists. Meelo's fartbending is hilarious.

Lin Beifong vs. the Equalists

Tenzin and Team Avatar return to Air Temple Island. They visit Pema and the baby, it's a boy. They name him Rohan.

More airships arrive attacking Republic City and Air Temple Island. Tenzin decides to leave the city to keep his family safe, but promises to be back. He tells Korra to be patient and wait for him and the reinforcements from the United Forces. Lin joins Tenzin to protect his family.

"You and your family are the last airbenders," she tells him.

As they fly off on the sky bison, they are attacked by two airships. Lin decides to leave them and take down the airships herself. She succeeds in crashing one -- but she is caught while trying destroy the other one. NOOOOO!!!!

"That lady is my hero," says Milo.

Korra and Team Avatar leave Air Temple Island for Republic City (on Naga who can actually carry all four of them now -- I guess it's adrenaline) as a new wave of airships arrive. Asami's death looks at Mako are upsetting me. He's such a jerk!

On Air Temple Island, Amon asks Lin Beifong where the Avatar is. She tells him no. He takes away Lin's bending.

NOOOOOOO! NOOOOOOOO! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
