The Journey Begins...
It's already the 16th in the Philippines and I called my mother because it is her birthday. I told her about my trip to Rochester and she wished me well on my little adventure. She told me how she got a senior citizen pass in the theater near her house, and she could go watch any movie she wants for free. She's spending the rest of her birthday teaching some poor children at church how to sing.
In a few minutes I head out the door to watch the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. My bus leaves at 1:15 am. I am brining some sleeping pills along just in case I don't fall asleep, but I'm pretty tired right now so I think I will not need it. I will arrive at Rochester at 8:05 am. Sean, my contact (and the person buying my extra tickets), told me that it is below freezing over there right now. I have now stocked up on some extra warm-me-ups like a scarf, turtleneck and gloves. I'm even bringing an extra pair of longjohns just in case. I was able to convince Alan, of David Ziff Coooking, to give me some extra tuna sandwiches from one of their parties, so I have some snacks. I'm also bringing a couple of comics along to pass the time. Oh and two liters of Evian water. And lotion.
So here goes. I'll take pictures, my precious.
