The Hollywood Reporter vs Nikki Finke

Yikes! This is crazy!
The Hollywood Reporter posted a legal letter on their Web site today warning Nikki Finke of Deadline.com not to publish a report that "THR is in the red". They claim in the letter that their financials have never been better both with their Web site and the magazine.
Ms. Finke in return has posted her response on Deadline.com, enumerating all "the dirt" that she has on THR, ending with: "Now get the fuck out of my face."
Woah!
So obviously it's war.
Deadline as a business is very cost-effective since it exists entirely on the Web. The Hollywood Reporter meanwhile is on the Web and print. The magazine business as we all know has been in decline for years now since more and more people are getting their news online. THR however has done a great job of moving a lot of their content online over the past couple of years. There's so much stuff on THR everyday I really can't keep up.
I think it's disingenuous of Deadline to accuse THR of not being a "trade publication" because they post about celebrities on their Web site -- when TV Line (one of the Deadline sites) posts extended polls on what the kids should be singing on Glee. I don't even do that, and I'm supposed to be "the gossip blogger", LOL.
