The Gates: Day 7, A Field of Dreams
I just realized that I was using the wrong setting on my camera for the type of pictures I eventually got this afternoon. I am not so sure if the pics today will come out nice in print. Even if I had used my tripod (which is part of my accessories now), it wouldn't have made too much of a difference since it was too damn windy, and its a rinky dink tripod.
Another mistake was that I moved the lens hood during some of my shots so there's these black marks on the screen. For a moment when I realized this I thought I had burned something in the camera. I was relieved that all it needed was a gentle twist.
I also need to pay more attention to the weather. I must wear gloves, I must wear gloves. The wind was so strong that after a while I couldn't take anymore pics because I was in pain.
Despite these difficulties, I was satisfied with my little adventure today even if it started slowly. I discovered the North Meadow baseball fields, and if you happen to be in New York during this time, this is one of the best places to go to see the Gates.
