The Event - Your World To Take - Recap

The Vice President didn't die in that car explosion last week. Instead, he's in the hospital where Eli has to pretend he cares about his well being after he was exposed as a traitor. Dempsey is not happy about the VP's survival and sends one of his goons to start cleaning up the mess they left behind. First on that list is a little girl who escaped from the prison hospital all the missing girls are being held at.
Of these girls, one of them is Leila's sister Samantha. Sean and Leila question the parents of the little girl who escaped to try and find out any little detail they can about where Samantha might be. The parents are scared and don't want anyone question their daughter who is still suffering the side effects of the injections given to her while kidnapped. She still has the face of an old woman. She was told by her kidnappers that the injections were helping other people. Are they experimenting on these kids? What are they trying to find out? Before Leila can get anything else out of the little girl, a Dempsey gunman who looks like a monkey and a troll, starts chasing them through a cornfield. He catches Sean and chokes him for awhile before Sean knocks him out with a rock. In the gunman's pocket is a file on Leila. What do they want with her?
Now that Sophia is out and about, she holds an alien conference with the rest of her people who have been living among humans for all these years. It's a reunion of sorts and Sophia is surprised by the lack of welcome she receives. She learns from one of her representatives that the rest of them aren't happy with her plans to return them all home. They're happy on Earth and want to stay. Thomas agrees with the questioning of his mother and wants to be the new leader. His girlfriend Isabel persuades him to put a bullet in his mother in exchange for her leadership. When faced with the opportunity however, Thomas is unable to pull the trigger.
Now that Sophia knows that she must be careful who amongst her people she can trust, she starts to question Isabel. Isabel isn't so happy when Sophia shows up very much alive to meet her and doesn't hide her unhappiness very well. Perhaps this is the reason Sophia pulls out a gun and asks Isabel to make a choice. She can either be an outcast and have no contact with any of her people, or shoot herself in the knee and prove her loyalty. Um. Ouch. Unfortunately for Isabel, there isn't a third option and she pulls the trigger on herself.
This is getting crazy. What are they planning? What are those injections doing? Why make children appear older? What is the event??
