The Event - For The Good Of Our Country - Recap

The President finally gets an opportunity to speak to Michael about the day he tried to fly a plane into his family. Michael is hesitant but forthcoming with a hint that allows Eli to track down someone involved with the plot. A flashback to the assassination day shows us that the Vice President is the one who knew about it. He received a call from the creepy old guy from last week who convinces him this is all for the greater good. I can't tell if they want us to feel sorry for the VP or not. He's obviously a politician though. Being coerced by a creepy guy who seems to know the future for the good of his career? I don't feel for him yet.
Meanwhile back to our favorite soap opera couple, Leila and Sean are on the run from the gunmen who almost got them last time. Leila is freaking out in the middle of a street and Sean allows this stupidity to take place while they just stand there. Anyone with a brain can see what's about to happen. One of the guys makes it out of the explosion and shoots Sean. Leila grabs Sean and he limps alongside her until they knock out the gunman and steal a station wagon. Crime with class. Leila gets the guy's gun and they hijack a doctor from a hospital parking lot and head over to a Value Aid (hahahaha) pharmacy. She forces him to buy enough supplies to perform an operation on Sean in the parking lot to save his life. I kinda wish we could see more of the doctor. He was really pretty.
The Prez and Sterling find out about the VP and immediately Eli isn't wanting to use Blake's "patience" tactic. He basically wants to beat the crap out of the VP as soon as possible. He's nowhere to be found, as he's made an appointment to meet with Creepy McCreeper. If I were him, I'd steer clear because Creepy has just asked Vicky to take him out. Vicky backs out however because she's tired of being a bitchy killer and makes a deal with the VP. Unfortunately for them both, Creepy wins as a car bomber takes out the Vice Prez.
What is The Event? What was Creepy eating out of that eye dropper? Is it keeping him young?
