The Event - Casualties of War - Recap

There's a lot of blackmailing going on this week. Things get serious and time runs short when the plane victims start to bleed from everywhere, go nuts, and have their nervous systems shut down. Thomas continues to call the president, offering an antidote in exchange for the release of Sophia and the rest of the prisoners. The President has two hours to decide whether to meet his demands. Flashback to 1944, we learn Thomas and Simon were in charge of getting the rest of their people home, but with human technology not as advanced as necessary, Thomas helps out. Ever hear of a little thing called The Manhattan Project? That was Thomas speeding technology along.

A flashback shows that Vicky has 2 percent of a heart left. While on a mission to kill an entire family, she takes the baby with her instead. Meet her son. Sean finally finds a charger for his phone and gets in touch with Leila. With Sean on his way, Leila discovers the real intentions of the people in the precinct and tries to escape. She doesn't get very far and waits in a back room for Sean to arrive. Sean blackmails Vicky with the picture he took of her son and she has to think fast. She kills everyone in the precinct and allows Sean to leave with Leila and her partner.

The Prez decides to up the blackmail in his favor. If Thomas doesn't give them the antidote in time, he will kill every one of the prisoners including Sophia. Thomas doesn't believe him and Sophia orders Thomas to release the antidote so no one dies. Maybe some of them aren't entirely evil? Then what do they want? Thomas has a counter offer for the Prez. He'll give the antidote for Sophia. Elias agrees and has Sterling put a tracking device in Sophia while they wait for Thomas to arrive.

Bah! Why do the feds want Sean? What is The Event? Are they really aliens? Are they from the future? What do they want?
