The CW has picked up Whose Line Is It Anyway? for another season after the sketch comedy series returned two weeks ago with a staggering 2.9 million viewers, making it The CW's most-watched Tuesday 8 p.m. show in close to five years. The second episode kept the momentum going, remaining well above two million viewers.

"It’s clear that viewers are as excited to have ‘Whose Line’ back on the air as we are," said CW President Mark Pedowitz. "We have wanted to bring comedy back to The CW for a long time, and Aisha, Wayne, Colin and Ryan have brought funny to the network in a big way. We’re very excited to have them back for another season."

The renewal is for 24 new half-hour episodes, which is more than double The CW's original order for the improv comedy series, which was given a 10-episode order.

The original Whose Line ran on ABC from 1998 to 2004, with Drew Carey hosting. Former cast members Ryan Stiles, Wayne Brady and Colin Mochrie have all returned for the CW version of the series, with Aisha Tyler taking over for Carey in the hosting chair.
