The Biggest Loser – Season 14 Episode 11 – Video Recap – Down to the Wire

The recap of The Biggest Loser – Season 14 Episode 11 – “Down to the Wire”:

With every season, I always look forward to when the contestants look back on their journeys (it’s usually the second to last episode of every season). Here I am, crying again fourteen seasons into The Biggest Loser. God, that last sentence made me sound old, but I’m only 22 years of age. This show always makes me cry…

The Contestants and Kid Ambassadors Look Back on Their Journeys:

The kid ambassadors—Lindsay, Sunny, and Biingo—looked back on their individual journeys on The Biggest Loser. Jillian was inspired by Lindsay’s story because Lindsay had the courage to speak up about getting bullied in school in front of all her schoolmates. The contestants—Danni, Jackson, Joe, Jeff, and Gina—watched their respective videos with their original trainers:
  • Danni watched her video with Jillian
  • Jackson and Joe watched their videos with Dolvett
  • Jeff and Gina watched their videos with Bob
Jeff’s video brought tears to Bob’s eyes: when Bob saw the former, overweight Jeff sitting inside of his mother’s basement in the video, Jeff looked so vacant and lost. The new, healthy Jeff has found his purpose in life and he’s also found a new girlfriend in Francelina. As I said last week, Francelina is one lucky girl because her new boyfriend is a stud! Over the course of this season: Bob has been a father figure to Jeff, and Jeff is the son that Bob never had. Their bromance and their trainer/trainee relationship are to die for.

The videos also included background music from some of the biggest names in the music industry. Here are a few of the songs that were used:
  • “Army of One” by Bon Jovi à This is a brand new track from Bon Jovi’s new album, What About Now
  • “It’s Time” by Imagine Dragons
  • “Girl on Fire” by Alicia Keys

The Kid Ambassadors Visit Dr. Joanna:

  • Lindsay no longer has pre-diabetes.
  • Biingo has drastically lowered his BMI by losing 25% of his starting weight.
  • Sunny no longer suffers from high cholesterol.

Danni visits Dr. H:

Danni has set a new record on The Biggest Loser for the most muscle gained in 3 months!  She’s already gained 19 pounds of muscle. Congratulations Danni!!! She’s my favorite contestant this season, so I’m hoping she wins this season.

An Inspirational Story:

A year ago, a 9-year-old girl named Breanna weighed 196 pounds. Today, she’s lost over 72 pounds. She was also inspired by Sunny, Lindsay, and Biingo.

The Challenge of the Week:

This week, the contestants partook in a “Put the Weight Back On” challenge. (They met with host Ali Sweeney at the Mountain High Ski Resort). Ali asked them to climb up a steep mountain, while carrying the weight they lost.
  • Joe carried 120 lbs
  • Danni carried 84 lbs
  • Jeff carried 112 lbs
  • Jackson carried 93 lbs
  • Gina carried 82 lbs
Result: Joe—the winner of the challenge—also won a 1-pound advantage for the weigh-in.

The Weigh-in:

This week’s weigh-in consisted of a Yellow Line and a Red Line.
  • Joe – Previous Weight: 244; Current Weight: 239; Pounds Lost: -5 (+1 pound advantage), 2.46%
  • Jackson – Previous Weight: 235; Current Weight: 230; Pounds Lost: -5, 2.13%
  • Gina – Previous Weight: 163; Current Weight: 161; Pounds lost: -2, 1.23%
  • Jeff – Previous Weight: 276; Current Weight: 265; Pounds Lost: -11, 3.99%
  • Danni – Previous Weight: 174; Current Weight: 163; Pounds Lost: -11; 6.32%
Result: Jeff and Danni have sailed through to the finals. Gina fell below the Red Line because she had the lowest percentage of weight loss. She was automatically eliminated. Jackson and Joe fell below the Yellow Line because they had lower percentages of weight loss than Jeff and Danni. America will determine the third finalist—will it be Jackson or Joe? We will find out in next week’s finale.

Gina has already lost 100 pounds to date. She looks AMAZING! You go girl! Keep up the great work, Gina!

I’ll be at the finale next week, so I’ll have some inside scoop for ya. This season has been incredible—the best season since Season 11. Thanks for reading this recap of “Down to the Wire”!

I'll post a video recap later, so look out for that!
