The Apprentice: Martha Stewart - Episode 1
Watching this show I felt very happy for Martha. I know she's a bitch and all, but now that she's gone to jail and wore that thing around her ankle, I want her to succeed a little bit. Granted that I already switched my allegiance to another domestic diva (actually two: Nigella and the Barefoot Contessa), I'm still interested in what Martha is up to. After the first episode, I think she's well on her way in transforming herself into the stern but compassionate boss on the show. She even writes the fired candidates a farewell hand-written letter -- how very... domestic.
The secret to a great show of course is casting, casting, casting. I'm happy to report that the cast has a plenty of ingredients for an amazing train wreck. Off the bat, the "creative" types on team Matchstick (great name by the way) ignite into a fireball of bickering, backbiting, confrontation and sour-graping for their first project. Wow. All I can say is what were they thinking? They never should have banded together -- didn't they sense that they were inherently not made for each other? Alas, they are now stuck with each other's sorry ass. Fun, fun, fun. I am expecting a lot of drama, and it looks like these guys will deliver.
I saw somewhere that Martha tries a different "You are fired"-variation every week. This week: You just don't fit in... goodbye. Hmmm.
