Tesla Is Officially Launching A New Roadster - Rejoice!

Tesla Motors is officially launching a new Roadster! The confirmation comes buried in a press release on Friday (via The Verge):

There is of course one speed faster than ludicrous, but that is reserved for the next generation Roadster in 4 years: maximum plaid.

Tesla founder Elon Musk also confirmed that the Roadster will be a brand new car in a confrence call. The original Roadster was a modified version of the Lotus Elise which was Tesla's first production vehicle announced in 2006.

So there will be a new Roadster in 4 years. That's enough time to save up right? Very exciting.
