'Teen Wolf' Star Tyler Hoechlin in Talks for 'Man of Steel' Batman Role (?)

Tyler Hoechlin at MTV VMA

You know him best as the brooding alpha wolf Derek Hale on MTV's smash hit series "Teen Wolf," but rumors have been swirling surrounding Tyler Hoechlin's involvement in the new Man of Steel sequel. Could Tyler Hoechlin be our latest Batman?

The Superman film sequel is set to be a crossover with Gotham's own Bruce Wayne bursting onto the Metropolis scene. With no solid word on whether or not Dark Knight series star, Christian Bale, would be reprising his role, all we have to go on is the latest in entertainment buzz. The latest wave of gossip suggests that casting has Tyler Hoechlin in serious consideration.

Hoechlin's camp has yet to confirm or deny the star's alleged talks, but experience tells us that the Teen Wolf star will be the first of many actors considered to play the latest interpretation of The Dark Knight.

Do you think Tyler Hoechlin would be a good fit for Batman?

Personally, I like Tyler Hoechlin as a young actor, especially as a writer who covers Teen Wolf on a weekly basis. Unless they have a specific new vision, my issue is that Hoechlin seems a bit too young for the part. I always imagine Batman as a thirty-something who's been around the Gotham block, and this young actor is twenty-five. He'd be fine for Batman Beyond! Maybe they should consider fellow Teen Wolf star Dylan O'Brien as the new Boy Wonder, Robin! In any case, good luck, Tyler!
