TBS Renews 'Cougar Town' for Sixth and Final Season
With its latest, surprise renewal, the beginning of the end has come for Cougar Town.
TBS has renewed Cougar Town for a sixth and final season. The run will consist of 13 episodes, which will air in 2015.
This is the latest reprieve for the resilient comedy, which moved to TBS after getting canceled on ABC following its third season. The most recent season ended in April with an average of 2 million total viewers, which is down over its first TBS season, and significantly lower than its heights on ABC. However, the show still ranks among cable's top 10 comedies among adults 18-48 with 1.3 million viewers.
If nothing else, it keeps Courteney Cox on our TVs a little longer for reasons other than vehemently shooting down the possibility of a Friends reunion. Of course, this is only good news if you actually like Courteney Cox. But hey, if Cougar Town is still pulling in enough viewers to justify a renewal, somebody must.
