Taye Diggs explains why he is following you on Twitter (VIDEO)

Taye Diggs was on TODAY this morning promoting his new show Murder in the First on TNT.

The drama premieres on June 9, 2014.

After talking about the show, Matt Lauer asked about Taye's reputation for following people on Twitter. He started with 44 last April and now he follows 45,000 in June.

Some journalists are annoyed by this (which boggles the mind actually -- Taye can follow who he wants to).

He explained that he was embarassed, but he's using Twitter as a "ticker" by following all these interesting people.

I for one am happy that Taye Diggs is following me on Twitter. I didn't even need to follow him, he just followed me. What an honor! Thank you Taye!
