Taking the Stage 2 - Episode 1: New Year, New Talent

Taking the Stage Season 2 premiered last night on MTV.

Our favorites Tyler Nelson and Mia Carruthers are back. Tyler is a senior at SCPA and Mia moved into a house with her band after graduating (so we also get to see Aaron).

My thoughts: Tyler and Mia continue to be the stars of this show, even if the show introduced new members to the cast: Anna, Emily Sones, Emily Silber, Carlton, Ian and Adam. I just don't see those new guys topping the star power of Tyler and Mia.

All the new cast members are NEW STUDENTS to SCPA, much like Tyler was last year. I guess they discovered how viable being in SCPA is (and being on Taking the Stage of course) because Tyler is now the star student of the school. I would prefer current students in the SCPA to be featured though, instead of outsiders trying to take over for the sake of TV air-time. It now looks more staged than ever.

However, I will still watch because obviously I love Tyler and Mia.

Mia went back to SCPA to perform "Gray" (which is my favorite song from her new EP) during the talent show.
