Taimak Guarriello - Bruce Leeroy - The Last Dragon

Before I left for Delaware for the AC/DC Weekend (that I still have not recovered from), I saw Taimak, star of the cult-classic The Last Dragon on a sidewalk in the Upper West Side. Taimak played Bruce Leeroy, social misfit kung fu master, who I basically idolized when I was a kid. It's probably the nature of New York because a lot of people live here, but it's sometimes hard to comprehend how many years later, the boy meets his childhood hero along Amsterdam Avenue by some random string of events. You just gotta believe it will happen I guess (Julia Roberts please be in my future someday).

Our meeting was kinda funny. I go up to him and ask what he was up to these days, then he shows me his fitness DVD! Hahaha. I was taken aback -- did I really look that unhealthy that I needed a fitness DVD to get me back on track? At any rate, of course I bought it. With hopes that one day I would have the rock hard abs of Bruce Lee! And we had a picture together which was great.

This is not the first time I met Taimak. I saw him almost 4 years ago in the play called Roadhouse (based on the movie), where he wore a blond mullet wig.
