In a recent interview with VladTV, rapper T-Pain talks about how homophobia in hip-hop angers him and how he knows rappers that won't work with Frank Ocean.
T-Pain said:
I don’t think urban music is getting more gay-friendly because if that was the case, Frank Ocean would be on a lot more songs. I know n***as that will not do a song with Frank Ocean just because he gay, but they need him on the f****g song and that’s so terrible to me, man.
Truly sad. I hope one day that the music scene will be fully accepting of everyone for who they are - especially in the African-American community. Luckily, we have artists like T-Pain who take a stand against this.
Side note: T-Pain is on the way back with his new song "Up Down." Kudos.
