Syfy Renews 'Dominion' and 'Defiance'

Syfy is keeping two of its cornerstone thrillers locked down for the foreseeable future: the network has renewed both Dominion and Defiance for next year.

Defiance, the sci-fi series featuring aliens and humans cohabiting on Earth, will return for a third season while Dominion returns for a second. Both Defiance and Dominion, which centers on the post-apocalyptic war between the archangel Gabriel and the archangel Michael, have received a 13-episode order.

Kevin Murphy (Caprica) will return as the executive producer and showrunner for Defiance, while Vaun Wilmott (Sons of Anarchy) will fulfill the same duties for Dominion.

Although no official premiere dates have been announced, both shows will presumably return in summer 2015, which gives me time to finally get caught up on both (no show has ever been recommended to me more than Dominion, so I'm guessing there's something about it worth watching).

Do you watch Defiance and/or Dominion? What do you think of the shows? Sound off in the comments!
