Syesha Mercado - Mic Issues in Chicago and Oh Lo... Lovesha!

Syesha Mercado blogs again on her MySpace. She feels a bit bitter that an expression she started is being attributed to Ramiele Malubay and blames Television.

Last night in the buses she said that she doesn't hate me, and that she's a lover not a hater. See??? Take that all you haters -- and those who said all those nasty things about me and Syesha. We have always been about the Lovesha. And Syesha loves me!

We Lovesha! Go Fanesha 300!

SO guess what happened to me last night. I had my mic in my hand backstage right before Jason Castro's song......t can be really dark back there depending on where we are in the set. SO, I always make sure I have my mic. All of our mic's have our name written on them located on a white strip of paper. As I'm getting help putting my mic pack on I set down my mic and thinking I'm picking up the same one when the pack is in place I pick up another Idol's mic. SO I start my dance moves on the lift and when my vocals come in I can't hear myself.......I told my self It's okay my in ears aren't working so I take one out and nothing in the house. I kept going, but before I stepped down the first stair I realized I had the wrong mic. SO I remained calm and went through the motions as I hear in my ear chaos back stage. So, eventually someone realizes I need a different mic. and they do exactly that. They bring another one, but not mine.LOL

Half way through the song as I get closer to the crowd. SOmeone from backstage hands me my mic. But during this entire process the audience looked so scared for me. SOme people were booing upset that they couldn't hear. I felt bad that no one could hear the first half of the song. What a bummer. I apologize everyone who came out last night. Now we are getting a light where our mic table is located so that doesn't happen again. Well, double checking is always the best too. Right before I get on the lift I do that, but the night I didn't was the night no one could hear me.

I learned that no matter what keep going the problem will get fixed eventually. Then, when I had a chance I just spoke to the crowd about it. I let it go and tried my best not to dwell on the issue. Besides that mic problem I had a great day In Chicago. We all left the hotel to screaming fans waiting out by the buses. Big surprise. I wasn't prepared at all. I had like five bags in my hand. I had to load all my stuff in then I came out to sign and got through a few people before we had to leave. We had some fans give us treats. Hey, I'm noticing how the Idol girls are getting more gifts. How sweet of everyone.

As I was signing in the afternoon it was really humid. It reminded me of being back in Sarasota and Miami. I felt right at home. When I got back inside I looked at my hair in the mirror and it was all curled up, like baby curls. LOL Humidity makes the curly fro shrink.LOL

SOmething funny happened last night...a guy took a picture with me at meet and greet and said Oh lo...I asked him where did he get that from and he said Ramiele. Mmmmmmm....I thought. I was for sure he knew that was my words. But, nope he thought she made it up. Yup... . I've been using the phrase since I met my fiancee. He use to do goofy things to make me laugh and I created this crazy sound with the words Oh lo......because the sound was very close to what he was chanting when he was being all crazy. Since Rami was my roomie since Hollywood week, she was very familiar with it because every time I spoke with my finacee on the phone she would hear the crazy phrase being repeated over and over again. She took a liking to it and started saying it as well. Since I was pretty much a mute for the first half of the show everyone thought she made it up. I joke around with Rami about this all the time....We have a good laugh...everyone time we are together and someone says..... I thought Ramiele made that up. We look at each other and smile.

And because she said it back during top 24 in an interview everyone, well most of the public thinks she created it. NOpe. I did! Wow! I love Rami to death, but the creator of Oh lo is Syesha! :) Just makes you wonder how many things people get credit for that aren't even the originators. The power of T.V. the power of editing. I've used the saying Oh lo a few times in interviews, but it was never shown. Rami said she would write a blog about how she did not create it, I wonder if she did? Oh lo lo lo...LOL. It's all good though she my roomie for life and I love her, even if people think she made oh lo up. It happens.

The media has so much power over our minds. I feel like we don't realize it at times how it's all a form of mind control. If the guy on the T.V. or in an add is telling us we have to get the new............ We at some point start to believe we have to get the new it and if we don't have it we are 'ol school or we start believing that what we have isn't good enough and eventually we take it for granted.

Honestly, I can say I appreciate the small things; sunshine, fresh air, family, friends and the blessing of living. The big picture is in the end all the new gadgets and stuff are all materialistic and they will be gone one day just like you and I. So, if I leave this earth with nothing what is the point of having things just to have them, because the guy on T.V. says I should? I'd rather put my money in places that will help starving children or people with diseases trying to find cures.

Back home I use to sing at this event called Giving Hunger the Blues every year in high school and that was the most amazing experience. I was doing something good for the community...giving back and it felt good! All of the money raised at the event was donated to ALl Faith Food Banks http://www.givinghungertheblues.org/ check it out please. If you can't help maybe tell a friend who might want to or can. Thanks guys! I was on the show this year so I couldn't sing. Hopefully next year. My band back home in Sarasota use to do a lot of charity events. Well, actually that is all we did mostly besides playing at the metro cafe in Bradenton.

Well....I did enjoy Chicago and I just wanted to let everyone know my Signature may vary on occasion. I might put my name with a smilie and "Keep SMiling" or SM with a smilie or just SM. It all depends on time. But, if you know you are going to be in the big crowd of people and want the full signature you might want to pick up a picture of me from the Idols Live TOur at the venue with my signature already on it. I just thought about that.

WOw, last night after the show....the signing line went for miles...Oh lo lo lo! LOL There were even fans behind a high gate sliding posters and papers through the open spaces......I got through everyone again. I even saw a Syesha poster...cute
