Sydnee Carter sings 'Tennis Court' on The X Factor Australia 2014 (VIDEO)

Sydnee Carter sang 'Tennis Court' on The X Factor Australia 2014 Boot Camp.

Since her first audition, Sydnee Carter has been one of this season's frontrunners. But I wasn't really feeling this performance as much as that first audition, mostly because she got flustered by the lyrics. It makes me worry about how she'd do in the live shows, since so many soulful, teenage artists fall apart once they get in front of the voting audience, or under-deliver on the promise of their early auditions. But the judges obviously see something in her, and I don't think they're wrong to see something in her. She clearly has talent, and last year's winner, Dami Im, forgot a lyric or two in the early stages, so it's not the end of the world. However, she can't make a routine out of this sort of performance.
