Switched At Birth – Season 2 Episode 10 – Recap – Introducing the Miracle
The recap of Switched At Birth – Season 2 Episode 10 – Introducing the Miracle:
On the students holding a strike: Last week, the School Board of Education decided to shut down Carlton altogether. This decision, however, sparked a protest from the students—including Noah (Max Lloyd-Jones) and Bay (Vanessa Marano). In Episode 10, the students occupied Carlton until the cops dragged them out the school property. Principal Rose gave them two options: either to come out voluntarily, or to be removed by force. They chose Option #2.
On Toby & Nikki’s big announcement: Toby (Lucas Grabeel) & Nikki (Cassi Thomson) are engaged, y’all! Kathryn (Lea Thompson) tried to talk Nikki out of it, but she & Toby went shopping for rings anyway. Also: Nikki will be travelling to Peru for six months to teach English and Music, and Toby got accepted to Washington University. (He doesn’t plan on going to college, though). TOKKI are inseperable!

On Bay & Noah’s short-lived relationship: Emmett (Sean Berdy) revealed to Bay that Noah and Daphne (Katie LeClerc) have feelings for one another. When Bay confronted Noah about his and Daphne’s kiss, Noah admitted to having a connection with Daphne. (This prompted Bay to break up with Noah). I liked Noah & Bay together for a couple episodes, but the novelty of their relationship wore off as quickly as it begun. I just want Bay and Emmett to get back together. Stat! Also, Daphne & Noah shouldn’t be together because she belongs with Travis (Ryan Lane). Does anybody have a ship name for Daphne & Travis? Davis? Traphne?
On Daphne speaking with Principal Rose at Carlton: Principal Rose let Daphne know that the School Board has reversed their decision, but only under one condition: in the following year, the school must consist of 50% deaf & 50% hearing students.

On Regina’s alcoholism: In the first half of the episode, Regina (Constance Marie) was in denial about her alcoholism. She told Daphne that she wasn’t drinking again, and told Bay that she’ll be attending AA meetings again. Regina also received news from her current boyfriend, Zane (Todd Williams): that he will be touring with his band for a few months, and he will “call [her] when [he] gets back”. (Ah, this is the classic break up line that people use to break up with their significant others). He won’t call you again, Regina. Sorry girl! … In the second half of the episode, Regina headed over to Angelo’s apartment and flirted with him because she was drunk. He texted Daphne & Bay to come over, and also called Regina’s mother, Adriana (Ivonne Coll). The next morning, Angelo arranged for Regina to attend Rehab in Minnesota, and Daphne took the blame for Regina’s alcoholism. Thereafter, Regina immediately told Daphne that her drinking problem is nobody else’s fault but her own.

On John becoming the new State Senator: John’s (D.W. Moffett) opponent, Patricia Sawyer, withdrew from the competition because her daughter suffers from bipolar disorder. This is the same girl that made out with Toby inside of the hot tub (a few episodes ago). Though this win is technically a forfeit, a win is still a win. Congrats John!
On Angelo asking Bay for a favor: Angelo (Gilles Marini) asked Bay to drive Lana (Annie Ilonzeh) to the hospital because she was in labor. Angelo arrived late to the hospital because he had to take care of Regina. He was only able to hold the baby once because Lana took off with the baby. (She told the nurses that she “had a plane to catch”). Poor Angelo is missing out on his third daughter. It looks like the third time ISN’T a charm after all.

Will Bay fall in love with Emmett again? Do you think Lana will come back? Will Daphne choose Travis or Noah? Will Regina complete her Rehab, or will she secretly flee the scene? Will Zane ever contact Regina again? Let me know in the comments below.
