Switched At Birth - Episode 30 - Recap - Street Noises Invade the House

So many secrets were revealed in Switched At Birth Episode 30, “Street Noises Invade the House.” Did Bay & John make peace with one another? Did Bay return home? Did Kathryn, John, & Angelo win the trial? Did anybody else find out about Daphne & Chef Jeff’s relationship? Did Bay & Emmett rekindle their love?

In the previous episode, Bay (Vanessa Marano) ran away from the home and decided to stay with Zarra (Tania Raymonde) until things calmed down a bit. Unfortunately, this wasn’t a good decision as SMAK & his crew tried to come after her and Zarra. Toby (Lucas Grabeel) arrived just in time to help Bay & Zarra escape from SMAK... and Toby drove them home. (SMAK is the guy who got Zarra arrested in an earlier episode).

The owner of the MAIZE restaurant came by to ask Daphne (Katie Leclerc) some questions. She asked Daphne about her relationship with Jeff (Justin Bruening), and whether or not she had received her promotion—from the dishwashing station to the salad station—in return for sexual favors. Not thinking rationally, Daphne quit her job at the restaurant so she could “be together with Jeff,” and not feel guilty about it. Chef Jeff asked her why she would do such a thing, and she replied, “I can find another job. I’m in love with you.” Jeff, being the much older and much more experienced guy in the relationship, dumped Daphne. He’s 28 years old, and she’s only 16. Daphne also explained all of this to Regina (Constance Marie)... but they both ended up saying the wrong things to one another.

Daphne: “You’re not exactly a role model for choosing great men! I want him (Chef Jeff) more than I want the job.”

Regina: “You must’ve learned that from Kathryn because you certainly didn’t get that from me!”

Regina also told Angelo (Gilles Marini) about Daphne & Chef Jeff’s relationship. Angelo was disgusted with a grown man dating a minor (yet alone, his daughter). He drove over to the MAIZE restaurant, and decked Chef Jeff in the face! Regina also told Kathryn (Lea Thompson) about Daphne’s relationship... and they also hurried over to the restaurant. Regina, Kathryn, and Daphne all witnessed the sucker punch.

"I'm Daphne's father. Don't you ever touch my daughter again!", replied Angelo to Chef Jeff

Also: Kathryn testified in the trial. (She was asked to testify in an earlier episode). She stated that she will be donating all the profits gained from her book to a children’s charity. She also explained that “the switch” was an issue because she missed Daphne’s baby years. She missed all of Daphne’s baby memories when she was growing up... nevertheless, she wouldn’t undo the switch. If the switch hadn’t happened, she would’ve never met Bay. Kathryn cannot imagine a life without the daughter she raised (Bay). Later in the episode, the jury finally came to a consensus: Angelo, Kathryn, and John (D.W. Moffett) all won the trial; but, here’s the catch: Kathryn & John were only rewarded $1; whereas, Angelo was awarded $5 million. (Since Regina is legally married to Angelo, half of the money belongs to her).

John implanted a tracking device into Bay’s phone, so he could track her wherever she goes. Kathryn invited Emmett (Sean Berdy) to the trial, and Emmett realized that Bay was heading off somewhere. (Emmett saw her earlier in the morning.... with most of her belongings stashed in her car). Toby also remembered that Zarra’s dad lives in Mexico.... so John & Emmett drove to Mexico in search of Bay. Since a few thugs stole Bay’s passport, she wasn’t able to cross the border into Mexico... luckily, John & Emmett tracked down Bay and Zarra before the night was over. John & Bay put aside their differences for now. Emmett also confessed his love for Bay again.

After the trial ended, a pregnant lady approached Bay & Daphne because she was looking for Angelo Sorrento. Did Angelo get another woman pregnant? Has he been cheating on Regina? Who is this woman? We will have to wait until January to find out who this woman is. Wow, what a cliffhanger this is!
