Survivor: Guatemala - Episode 12

The intrigue! The lies! The broken alliances! This show was brutal.

The reward challenge was an auction for items: beef jerky, cookies, a mosquito net, a secret envelope, a mystery item which turned out to be a steak sandwich, and finally "spend the night in camp with a loved one".

Lydia fought hard for a mosquito net. Cindy got the cookies. Judd won a night with his wife -- he then got to invite two friends, Stephenie and Cindy (who shared her money with him). The big winner however was Danni who got the beef jerky, the steak sandwich (which she shared with Rafe) and the secret envelope.

It was great to see Cindy's twin sister Mindy.

The immunity challenge was this human chess game -- which is too hard for me to explain right now. Hahaha. Ok, I'll try: basically you move around the board with white squares on it and everytime you step on a new piece you turn it over and becomes red. You can only step on a white space and not a red space, and everyone takes turns moving. When you cannot go anywhere, you are eliminated. At any rate, Danni's secret item -- the switch position with any player card -- proved to be pivotal as she exchanged positions with Steph. A few moves later, everyone was eliminated except for Danni. So Danni gets immunity -- which ruins it for the alliance!

How will people vote? What's going to happen? Well, aside from getting immunity, Danni successfully convinces both Rafe and Stephenie to vote Judd off. It was brilliant. After getting Lydia on board (she'll vote for anybody just to stay alive obviously), Judd is voted off during tribal council. "You scumbags!" shouts Judd.

The problem is Cindy all of sudden became out of the loop, which I think was a strategical blunder for Rafe, although he may have a stronger bond with Danni. Stephenie is now in trouble as she broke ranks with probably her strongest ally Judd. I wouldn't be surprised if Steph is next to go. I wonder how Cindy will react. It's so exciting now.
