B.B. Andersen who appeared on the very first season of Survivor has passed away at 77 after complications with brain cancer.
Said host Jeff Probst to People of the news, "B.B. was one of the original cast members who launched Survivor back in 2000. He was a powerful presence on the show and that zest for epic adventure was at the heart of everything he did. I was very saddened to hear of his passing."
Added that year's winner Richard Hatch, "B.B. was a good man with whom I shared a memorable experience. My thoughts and condolences go out to his family."
The oldest member of his tribe, Andersen was kicked off in only the second episode but was able to parlay that into deals with Reebok and Home Depot.
Anderson is only the second member of the show's contestants to pass away, the first being Jennifer Lyon of Survivor: Palau who died after a battle with breast cancer.
