'Suburgatory', 'Friends With Better Lives' Looking for New Networks
Suburgatory was one of several comedies to be canceled by ABC this week, while Friends With Better Lives got the ax from CBS along with four other shows.
However, both shows are looking to pull a Cougar Town and find new life on another network.
Warner Bros. TV is trying to find a new home for Suburgatory, with Cougar Town broadcaster TBS among the possible candidates. Meanwhile, 20th Century Fox TV is seeking to find a spot for Friends with Better Lives, although which networks the company is shopping the program to remain unknown. It's only one of several comedies 20th TV is attempting to save, as the untitled Kevin Hart comedy pilot starring Romany Malco, which ABC passed on, is still searching for a network to house it. ABC has instead decided it only has room for one new comedy of color on its schedule, as the network gave the greenlight to Black-ish starring Anthony Anderson. The comedy comes from showrunner Larry Wilmore -- who immediately announced his departure after being given Stephen Colbert's old job at Comedy Central.
