Studio Ghibli May Not Be Making Anymore Movies
Sad news for Studio Ghibli fans. The cartoon making powerhouse -- which brought the world films like My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away -- may be closing its doors after 29 years.
The news broke late last night (August 3) from director and co-founder Toshio Suzuki, who revealed that there are plans to possibly shut down the studio's production department.

Despite rumors that the company would completely shutdown production, Suzuki says they will most likely undergo a "housecleaning" or restructuring before they proceed with the "rebuilding" process.
As he explained, "On what to do with Studio Ghibli's future, it is by no means impossible to keep producing [movies] forever. However, we will take a brief pause to consider where to go from here."
This nervous-making news of course comes one year after Ghibli's famed director Hayao Miyazaki announced his own retirement.
